REMINDER: Sound Attenuation Public Outreach Meeting Tomorrow, June 13 at 10 am

Carteret County in conjunction with their project consultant, The Eastern Carolina Council of Governments (ECCOG) is holding a series of meetings on “Sound Attenuation”.

The meeting in Carteret County will be held tomorrow, June 13, at 10 am at the Emerald Isle Police Department Board Room, 7500 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, NC.

Attendees will hear a presentation from ECCOG staff and an insulation industry representative, followed by a time for questions and answers.

Questions and ideas shared by those in attendance will be used in the development of recommendations on the mitigation of noise impacts on residential areas while insuring the preparedness and future of air station facilities in our area.

Sound attenuation public outreach meetings were identified as one implementation strategy of many in the Cherry Point Regional Joint Land Use Study (JLUS). Funding for several JLUS implementation strategies was provided to Carteret County through a grant from the U.S. Office of Economic Adjustment.
